The Process of MK802
As for running Linux on the MK802, the whole process couldn’t be easier, and, in my opinion, it’s a great way for Linux newbies to try Linux without the hassle of setting it up on a PC. As such, MK802 users have plenty of options to replace the installed operating system with a different one or dual-boot with one of the other Linux variants that fans have come up with. This new firmware comes with some issues that, fortunately, can be easily fixed.

Lubuntu and Fedora 17
Lubuntu is a lightweight version of Ubuntu and is designed to be more flexible, less resource hungry, and much more power-efficient, making it ideal for an MK802 with minimal specs. A few versions of Lubuntu and Ubuntu run at 720p or 1080p on your MK802 available for download.
A version of Fedora 17 has been launched on the MK802. Note that you will need the 1GB RAM variant of the MK802 to run Fedora. There is currently only one official firmware update for the MK802 Android 4.0 mini PC, commonly referred to as Firmware Rev2. This guide is based on Envy’s MK802 guide, which contains much information about the MK802.

Depending on your version of Windows, you may need to upgrade to the 32-bit or 64-bit version. If you don’t know which version of Windows you have, download the one you have, because the wrong version won’t work and both files are not that important.
Once the preparations are done, you can begin the firmware update process. Please review the next steps carefully and make sure you know them correctly. Although rare, difficulties may arise during the firmware update process and turn your MK802 into a brick. If you encounter a problem, don’t panic. Restart the process, and you should be able to complete the update.
